Sir William Ramsay Academy in Buckinghamshire joined our solar schools scheme, installing 200 solar panels which are owned and managed by Low Carbon Hub.

Located in Hazlemere near High Wycombe, the secondary school teaches around 1000 pupils from year seven through to sixth form. The school’s solar panels were funded as part of a community share offer, which means they can be owned by staff, parents and local residents. The funds from the electricity generated will give a return to the community who have invested in the panels, as well as helping reduce school bills and enabling future community-benefit projects.

The 192 solar panels stacked on end would be four times as tall as the Great Pyramid of Giza!
