Abingdon Carbon Cutters
Abingdon Carbon Cutters is a Community Action Group working to reduce the carbon footprint of Abingdon in response to the climate change crisis.
They are a lively, active and welcoming group with regular events focussing on:
- Energy
- Food and waste reduction
- Education
- Transport
They have a diverse and committed subgroup, Plastic Free Abingdon, who achieved Plastic Free status from Surfers Against Sewage by organising regular clean ups of the riverbank and presenting talks to schools on Reducing Plastic Pollution. They also campaign to encourage the 5 big UK supermarkets to reduce their plastic packaging.
They are part of the coalition group; Abingdon Liveable Streets, who are working with Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford Cycling Network to develop a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan.
