Low Carbon South Oxford
LCSO is a community group established in March 2011 which aims to help South Oxford residents, groups and organisations work together to reduce their carbon footprint; raise awareness of environmental issues; and move towards more environmentally sustainable ways of living and working.
Since 2011 they have set up a Car Club and a weekly Farmers’ and Community Market, and regular Swap Shops each year. They have a committee and a number of sub-groups focusing on Sustainable Transport, being Creative with Waste, Farmers’ and Community Market and Community Renewable Energy
They have a strong partnership with Hogacre Common, a wonderful local eco-park/nature reserve.
They also offer small groups for local residents who are interested in exploring low carbon living, most recently a ‘Carbon Conversations’ group with local parents.
