This autumn Energy Solutions Oxfordshire is holding a series of fortnightly online webinars exploring topics relating to the importance of energy efficiency for businesses – how it can help organisations save money on their energy bills, improve comfort for staff and customers, and do their bit for the planet. These webinars are brought to you in collaboration with Oxfordshire Greentech, a business network for the low carbon sector.

In this webinar Steve Fawkes, Founder of EnergyPro will be covering the context of why energy efficiency is so important in the climate emergency, and particularly for local businesses.
Richard Dorey, Business Relationship Manager for Energy Solutions Oxfordshire will also be giving an overview of Energy Solutions Oxfordshire – what the service entails, how it works, and what kind of businesses it could help.
Energy efficiency for businesses: how to cover the upfront costs
We know that not every business has the money to put towards energy efficiency work, and that this can often be a barrier. That’s why, as part of the ESOx service, we’re able to support organisations with low-interest loan and other financing opportunities to pay for upfront costs – with the savings made to your energy bills covering the loan repayments.
In this webinar Alex Rathmell of EnergyPro Ltd gave an overview of how the financing works for energy efficiency projects through Energy Solutions Oxfordshire. We were also joined by James Andrews of Hitachi Capital, who explained how they are able to finance energy efficiency projects for businesses through low interest loans, giving a couple of examples.
Understanding your existing energy usage to save money, time, and carbon
Michael Esvelt and Moira Dorey of Oxford Brookes University’s Environmental Information Exchange team explain the importance of understanding your existing energy use and data, and what an energy assessment looks like if done through as part of the Energy Solutions Oxfordshire process.
Common measures for businesses to reduce their energy use –saving money, time, and carbon
Michael Esvelt, Operations Director at Oxford Brookes’ Environmental Information Exchange team explored common measures for reducing energy use at businesses. We were also joined by Gavin Hodgson, Carbon Reduction Manager, to share his experience with installing these measures at Oxford Brookes’ buildings.
Energy efficiency for businesses: how to decarbonise your heating bills
In this webinar Moira Dorey and Michael Esvelt explored different ways to de-carbonise heating within the premises of a business. This included replacing heating systems with lower carbon alternatives such as air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, and biomass boilers.
